Leadership from Within (30 Hours - March 2024)
This is a 12-week series of classes designed to help leaders at all levels become more effective. The course is divided into three parts, described below. Please note, the “New One Minute Manager” book is required reading. You can check with HR and your local bookstore to see if they have any copies or order it online by clicking here.
Part 1: Leadership Skills
Leadership from Within assists leaders in developing the skills necessary to motivate and encourage those around them by introducing a collection of leadership principles and techniques, including:
- Followership
- One Minutes Management Style
- Communication skills
- Goal setting and realistic expectations
- Time management
- Conflict resolution
- Problem solving
- Disciplinary process
- Feedback and counseling
- Dealing with success and failure
- Motivation skills
Part 2: Effective Delegation
Effective Delegation assists leaders in sharpening their delegation abilities, a critical skill for leaders at all levels to master. Discover how to develop and empower your team, increase productivity, and assure things get done the right way through delegation. This course begins with an “Application Week” to discuss how principles taught in the first four weeks are being applied in your everyday life.
Part 3: Effective Communication
Effective Communication discusses the 4 Corners of Communication: Preparing, Looking, Listening, and Verifying. This section takes a deep dive into each of these four pillars and why they are essential to making sure that clear communication is taking place. This is an interactive course, with a lot of practice and practical application. This course concludes with an “Application Week,” where you'll discuss how principles learned throughout this series are being used in your work environments.
